The UNIT-T UT501A is able to accurately measure insulation resistance across a wide range with several available test voltages also available which can be easily adjusted using a rotary dial on the front of the tester.
The rest of the interface on the UT501A is also extremely simple. It has a large, clearly labelled test initiation button, a data hold function which stores data temporarily and it is possible to toggle the backlight on and off as well. A large and bright LCD screen is also integrated into the unit for easy measurement readings.
This insulation resistance tester is autoranging, giving it the ability to automatically choose the correct range for whatever is under test. The aforementioned test voltages available on this tester are 100V, 250V, 500V and 1000V, giving this instrument insulation resistance range starting from 0Ω up to a high point of 5.5GΩ (dependant on test voltage currently being used).
Also included on the UT501A is a low battery indicator, alarm light display and buzzer, high voltage indication, overload indication, auto discharge and an internal resistance testing function.
