Insulation testers are called many different names, "megger" being one of the most popular. The Megger Group Limited is a company known for their original electrical insulation testers using hand cranked DC voltage generator. The MEGaohm metER (or megohmmeter) was named as Megger and the word became a trademark name registered in 1903.
For over 100 years many other manufacturers designed their versions of high DC voltage insulation testers and most electricians around the world are still using the word "megger" to commonly describe this type of a tester.
At Duncan Instruments we are proud to offer you a family of advanced, field proven instruments for high voltage insulation testing, low ohm resistance measurements and verification of protective earthing of power systems.
